It's hard to find bargains bidding against the house.

The same argument could be made for ComicLink and ComicConnect as well...

Heritage probably not as much...

Yes and Yes. Even HA, I wouldn't stake a 100% guarantee on it ...

??? Heritage bids in their own auctions. Its public info and legal in texas.

I think they are allowed to

a) allow employees to bid

b) bid up to the reserve

I'm not sure if the house is allowed to push the bid up indefinitely.

Discussed earlier in the week, but still an eye-popping number at close:

That's insane.

That sale can't be real.

Sure it can (shrug)

I am certain Doug is happy with his purchase and Doug is also happy with the sell (thumbs u

Be really exciting next time when Doug sells and buys it :insane:

If he were selling a 9.6 AF #15 for $6.50, I'd still rather stick a red hot poker down the eye of my $*&^ than give him my money. (thumbs u

Tell us how you :baiting: really feel....

I'm 16 Coronas in...telling you how I really feel would be the end of all things. :/

Well, that's...enlightening. I don't buy there too terribly often, but it does renew my curiosity about how so many of my bids end up right at their max.

Don't have a big enough sample size to comment on Comic Connect but I can tell you unequivocally that Josh runs a clean house. Very clean. There have been multiple opportunities to shill books I've bid on, many times for 1,000's of dollars, and Josh and his team have never taken a short cut. You can believe anytime quality material is offered there, I always take notice.

Why all the disbelief ?

It's real. I mean really ... as if it'd be the first time that someone with more money than brains ever dropped a bucket load of cash on a zzz book :eyeroll:
