Does it have to be comics?

Everyday I search "comic" on craigslist, as well as viewing the general and collectables sections.

This guy has been trying to sell these stone lions for a couple years at least now.

Has not come down one dime in price the whole time either.

I was thinking about starting a thread for the top 5 craigslist items in your area that you know will never sell, but that doesn't stop the seller from trying.

I had to click on the link to be sure you weren't lion.

Sorry about that, I just had to... :sorry:

Here are some local ones

http://york.craigslist.org/for/4382684923.html

"Willing to let them go for $100" DD 14 15 59 and marvel age 36

http://york.craigslist.org/clt/4412358712.html

only $700

I just bought a War collection of 300+ comics. Each book had a piece of paper tapped to the bag with the NM price. $12 for Sgt Rock 390 etc. He would up selling them to me for 50% of what they were worth - like 50 cents each.

It is amazing the amount of time folks put into something they don't know about, don't have a passion for, and simply want to get rid. I think its the fear of being taken advantage, so they put in 12 hours of work they protected themself. I had to spend half an hour taking the damn pieces of paper off and throwing them out.

Seeing the Dennis the Menace and Superboy books makes me want to respond to the ad with eBay links for the same books...

I did.

Did you get any response? Haha

Sadly, no response.

This one sounds too good to be true. Am I wrong?

When buying collections, those kind of books go for about 20-30 cents each. He's actually asking a bit too much IMO.

I'm getting back into collecting again, and I've never bought books in bulk before. Thank you for the insight as to what to expect to pay per book. :D

This ad has been on craigslist since the beginning of time..

http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/clt/4396667472.html

I got that for $1 at Half Price Books a while ago.

But in all seriousness, it has been there for at LEAST two years at 40.00. He/she never dropped the price.. It gets you to think... Does this guy has multiple copies and he eventually gets some insufficiently_thoughtful_persons to buy it for 40?

This one popped up on a sat morning with no pictures and I tried to contact the seller to no avail. I went on a couple of errands and came back,I looked again to see they posted pictures. Glad I didn't get ahold of them.

X-Men #1 is really worth $300 he says....

Where do these people get their info from???

It is like the time I heard some goof in the comic store ranting to the guy about what makes a book "Mint". His explanation was that it had to be untouched by human hands, ala pre-bagged comics or something. I was just like WTF!?!
