There are over 1400 9.8 New Mutants 98

According to the census. I guess I am the only person without one, and I just don't get it, Deadpool has always came across to me as a combination of Wolverine, The Punisher and Spider-Man.

I sure don't understand how the price has maintained around 400 dollars or so for as long as it has, but that is one of the joys of this hobby, you can never figure it out, when you think you have it, it proves you wrong.

I do find it distressing that some of the books I would like a 9.8 copy of are very few and far between, Captain America 217 is one of those, with only 5 copies out there, if and when Quasar makes his big screen debut those 5 will be going for thousands, then the dust will die down and they will be worth a nickel again.

Do you think the market is going to make a correction on graded books in the near future or am I going to have to pay around 400 bucks for a first Deadpool if I want one in the next couple of years?

You don't need to spend $400; just don't buy a 9.8.

Also, your sig line should be longer.

NM 98 is one of the best investment books out there (I'm sure many will disagree). Deadpool has become an incredibly popular character, and there is still a remarkable amount of room for said popularity to increase. 10 years from now, you'll be wishing that you picked up a 9.8 for $400. 2c

Who knows...maybe a heck of lot more in a couple of years. I have better luck finding them in the wild. That is, not anymore.

I have a 9.2 and it looks fantastic and I'm extremely happy with it. I'd recommend going for a 9.6 or 9.8 now only if you are looking to sell it later, like if and when the Deadpool movie ever comes out. But if you want one just to have one, buy the book…not the grade!

I was going to say this also.

If you're really against the price, just get a 9.6.... 1 extra NCB spine tick for half the cost. Worth it to me (thumbs u

Same concept with Hulk 181.

He's popular, but there are 1400 9.8s, and who knows how many more raw copies waiting to be pressed into 9.8s. You'll need thousands of people willing to spend more than $400 for a 9.8 - which by the way looks identical to a 9.4 or 9.6 - if this book is going to see a significant increase.

I can do such a thing, it's still 6 days until Memorial day, perhaps a nice United States flag waving in the distance. hm

Maybe the words to Hulk Hogan's entrance theme.

Also, Deadpool is Canadian. Are you cool with that?

It's all relative, gents. 1,400 may seem like an abundance, but when there are 14,000 people that want a 9.8, it's the very essence of scarcity. 14,000 is a made up number of course, but there clearly is more demand that supply. For reference, look at ASM 129. Not a "rare" book, and there are about 1,300 at 9.2 and above. Now look at what a 9.2 goes for.

When print runs become problematic in the future, the powerful will dispatch specialists hired to remedy this setback. They will be called: Print-Run Assassins.

Humanoids that can optically only perceive thermal imaging, GPA stats, variants, and most importantly, print runs---they can and will terminate all who get in between them and tearing the covers off of high print funny books.

with the popularity of the book, and the price potential, and the press that the 10.0 got last year I would assume that of those 1400 9.8s a decent percentage (more than the average book) are duplicates due to the sub, resub, press, resub, press with someone else, re-re-resub game.

decent percentage in my guestimation.... 15%

NO! :ohnoez: Next you will tell me that Wolverine is Canadian, or that Peter Rasputin is a Russian. :jokealert:

1400 copies in 9.8 is ridiculous. This is a micro bubble. More hype than real demand. More flippers than keepers. Eventually the market will figure it out.

I tend to agree that more flippers own this book than real collectors, and the bubble will burst and down will come flippers, wallet and all.
