I think you can also accurately gauge the heat on a character by looking at the demand for their 2nd appearance. Especially when the first appearance is unattainable by the average collector. Deadpool's 2nd appearance in X-Force #2 has a census of 174 9.8s and selling briskly ~$30 (shrug)

Yea this is an old thread I came across and wanted to comment in retrospect...

was not a bad investment and demand for book is still very high even after the movies and uncertainty of future characterization by the acquisition of Disney.

popular character in comics as well as screen potential.

As of today still a great investment if price is right.

is it official?  the book can not be referred to as "rare" and is now know as "uncommon"?

Any book that instantly yields 25+ copies for sale in a CGC 9.8 on eBay should not only NOT be considered uncommon but be considered plentiful.

Is the book just expensive because of deadpool popularity and nothing more?

Maybe like Carnage popularity

And that 2nd appearance is also fa of kane weapon x and it's pretty much worthless

So how much did a 9.8 go for at its peak ?

there have been a few outliers at $1200 but the average has been pretty steady around $800 since 2015

Well, with 13 copies in CGC 9.9 graded condition, any idea what the going rate for one of those baker's dozen copies would be?  hm

Does anybody remember here when and what the single highest graded CGC 10.0 graded copy sold for? hm  hm

Foolkiller can probably help here; IIRC it was something like $22K

makes the Professor's 9.9 purchase look silly

Thus Endeth the Lesson!
