Quick Question for Silver Age Experts (X-Men 3 & X-Men 7)

This has probably been pointed out before and I'm sure a lot of you already know this, but here goes.....

 

I'm trying to confirm that all x-men #7 copies have the outline of Angel's wing from X-men #3 just to the left of the 'X' in X-Men. I just picked up #3 and 7 last weekend and thought maybe some kid tried to color/trace the design on his #7. I was kind of disappointed because I didn't notice it at first. After looking at the #7's for sale on ebay it looks like this "error" is on all of them?

 

Anybody ever notice this?

As far as I know , the trace is on every X-Men 7 I have owned, too.

 

BTW, that was one of the first SA comics I owned. Such happy times.
