Congratulations to Sony for producing yet another wildly successful Spider-Man film for the children. It's already made more at the box office than Man of Steel and is on it's way to over $700 million worldwide. (thumbs u This franchise is still going strong even after 4 previous films put out in the last several years, including a reboot. :applause: The iconic childrens' character is so popular worldwide that 4 more Spider-Man films are in the works including two spin-offs. It's a great time for children around the world and their parents who get to spend quality time with their family while viewing these blockbuster films. Kudos to Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, Marvel, and Sony for bringing such joy to everyone around the world. Can't wait till the next Spider flick hits the theaters. :)

:roflmao: $425MM to produce and distribute and it won't touch $750mm WW with barely $200mm domestic = financial dud. also a critical disaster. stock of ASM3 tanking, stock of Sinister Six collapsed. the likelihood Marc Webb is attached to #3 is remote. congratulations, indeed.

3 x budget vs. 1.6 x budget. Plus MOS had that $160-$170 MM in advertising revenue it picked up from Carl's Jr., Sears, IHOP and other companies.

But for me, I always want to see these big movies succeed rather than get into a company vs. company contest. The better they all do, the more attention on the overall hobby.

Go figure!

You were the one who said if a movie is successful the companies will definitely make sequels. Where is the Man of Steel sequel? The Spider-Man films are still going strong after 5 recent films with more in the works. Go figure. :)

Sounds like someone is jealous. That's to be understood. This is a Marvel character after all. :)

Thanks again to Sony for producing yet another wildly successful Spider-Man movie. Families around the world wait in eager anticipation for the next installment. :applause:

You are mixing budgets.

The MOS numbers are production budget only.

The ASM numbers are the production budget + marketing costs

MOS made money off promotions, which in the end was around $170 MM when done.

Superman Reboot 'Man of Steel' Snares $160M in Promotions

With more than 100 global promotional partners and $160 million in collective promotional support, the newest Superman installment, "Man of Steel," is shaping up to be the most Madison Avenue-friendly film of the summer, and the most heavily promoted Warner Bros. film this year.

lol

Jealous? Not really. I collect DC and Marvel characters along with independents. Why would I be jealous of these movies making money? I may be jealous I'm not making that money directly.

(:

Wow, no other movie made money on endorsements. huh? Or maybe they didn't need to prop their films up with nonsense like this. :roflmao:

Odd. Because I get just as excited over X-Men movies, The Avengers, Thor, Captain America and yes - the Raimi Spider-Man movies.

It's sad when someone has to make it out like there is some war out there to destroy either company. But if that helps you get through your day...
