We have a rare one up for sale tonight, guys. I have a pre-Batman Detective Comics #18 CGC 1.0 (C-OW) from August 1938. It has a Classic Fu-Manchu Cover, and it seems to have a low census number, so it comes up for sale rarely. Any of you pre-Batman Tec fans out there will love this affordable and absolutely beautiful copy for the grade. If it didn’t have the detached cover and tape on the spine, it would structurally be a lot higher. Without reading the notes, it can be hard to tell why it is a 1.0, when in hand.

I am asking for $1,200 on this slab. It may be higher than the most recent sale of $631, but that sale was back in 2011, so I feel that it is a fair way to price of the book, based on my calculations.

 

I recognize the rarity of this book for sale, especially in affordable grade, so I am being safer than sorry by not starting the sale at a lower price and having “seller’s remorse” if it is scooped up for an unreasonably low price. If you don’t find the price to be up your alley, please PM me with your offers. I will not be entertaining offers for $631 or anything in that area or lower, and will not be convinced that I should sell it at the most recent sale price on GPA. So please, save us both some time by not doing so. Reasonable offers only, please.
