Tiny Tots Comics Inc. question

What is the relationship between 'Tiny Tots Comics Inc." and EC comics? I have tried to do some digging on google, but didn't have much success. Did they print certain books for them solely, or was the relationship like Whitman, i.e. essentially reprints?

I'll see if I can dig up my reference for this, but as I recall in the pre-Code days, publishers would set up all kinds of shell companies to escape various regulations (postal regulations, perhaps?) What I think it is safe to say is that Tiny Tots Comics was one of many names under which William Gaines brought his books to market. They are not reprints though...

 

Anyone else have the definitive answer?

That is correct, Gaines has MANY of these shell companies set up for whatever reason.

Didn't Timely/Atlas do the same thing for awhile? I thought it had to do with distribution, and pure CYA tactics in case something went wrong.
