39 posts in this topic

Civil War paintings, ,Mostly Mort Kunstler but a few others, that feature The Irish Brigades.

Swords, although its a few years since i bought one

Coins

Toy Soldiers, mostly Marx

1967-1970 Matchbox and Hot Wheels.

Vintage Peter Max items from the 1960s

Vintage 60s/70s Las Vegas casino items.- matchbooks, chips, menus, giveaways, posters, ect, ect

Gawd I love Marx soldiers. I still have my brother's and mine Battleground sets, plus all the bags of army men I purchased when I was a kid. I remember going to some friends house for Thanksgiving - probably 1967 or 1966, and they had a nice Blue and Gray set that was just awesome. I would love to collect some of these sets, but then there are the matters of $ and the storage space. I remember being at a drug store sometime in the late 60's and there were the full bags of the 54mm(?) WWII Japanese, but I didn't have the 99 cents to buy one  and I never found another one :pullhair:

stuff I loosely term propaganda material, historically significant artifacts and ancient pottery.

My collection of each is modest with the jewel of my collection being some glass from the Manhattan project used in the observation windows of the factory in which they produced Fat Man.

Similar to this but not as large a piece

Most people would think I collect guns because I have so many, but most of them were given to me by my dad and brother, because they couldn't/can't stand that I don't collect guns, so they were always picking up extras of whatever they thought was cool, and giving them to me.

Just started having Lego date night with my gf. We've been doing it about two months and we have almost the whole DC Lego collection. Starting on star wars next, I think she's doing Marvel.

About 1994, I was living in Jackson Heights, in a 200 unit co-op. I had just bought a mid 60s Fort Apache set from an ad in Toy Collector and had it set up on my dining room table to see if it was all there. For some reason ,the super dropped by to check something and saw the set. Told me he had the same set upstairs. His father had been the Super before him and they had lived in the same apartment his whole life. Turned out he had an older set, plus a 1961 Blue and Grey set, and most of a Battleground set from the same time. He sold them to me for $100

These were the sets with the flags that doubled as razor blades, not the plastic flags they switched to in the late 1960s.

They are just so hard to display.

Are you a master builder, or are you Lord Business?

If you get tired of them giving you stuff, I'm available to take on that burden for you.
