Antboy!

The new-to-DVD "Antboy" is a nicely dubbed Denmark family film import that I bought today at Walmart.

I wasn't actually expecting much, but the production values are pretty high. Dove recommends it 12 and over, but I felt it was pretty good for the slightly younger kids (age 8) not yet ready for PG-13ish violence of The Amazing Spider-Man or The Dark Knight movies.

I mean, don't expect this to be in your top 25 favorite funnybook movies of all-time, but I figured it would be a perfect and safe watch for a young viewer to sample the popular genre. Myself, I didn't mind it.

 

Another review. They are right. The cast is quite impressive for child actors.

Don't laugh but we're a few weeks from the DVD release of the Antboy sequel, Antboy: Revenge of the Red Fury.

I thought the original was well produced, full of quality performances from the younger actors.
