PovertyRow
While EC (justifiably) gets the main shine for pre-code horror, 4 publishers published more pre-code horror books than EC. Name those four publishers in order of output, from highest to lowest, and win a fabulous prize! A VG copy of the pre-code horror Uncanny Tales #28. PovertyRow
A hint - no science-fiction. Just horror! Another clue - none of them are on the top 4. Enter as often as you like!

Crowzilla
Atlas would definitely have to be #1 with Adventures into Terror, Adventures into Weird Worlds and Uncanny Tales to name a few. #2-4?....hmmm How about: 2) ACG would have to be a close #2 (Adventures into the Unknown lasted a long time) 3) Harvey 4) Avon How's that? Crowzilla
I don't even think DC published ANY horror comics, so I know they are right out, and Fawcett and Quality each only had a couple of titles. My other considerations for 3rd-4th place were/are: Ace, Comic Media, Farrell, Star, and Superior
PovertyRow
I don't even think DC published ANY horror comics They had 3 titles - House Of Mystery, Sensation Comics and Sensation Mystery (continuation of Sensation Comics). But they are well out of the running.
Crowzilla
Alright then, must be the top half - 'cause I'm sure no one had more than Atlas... so... Atlas ACG Superior Farrell (still can't believe Harvey isn't one of them...)
ArAich
Wouldn't "House of Mystery be horror... Beyond that I have no idea as I was only guessing that they would have had more titles than that...
Crowzilla
Hmmm again... so Mystery titles count as horror? But yes, DC didn't have nearly enough to qualify for anything. Do the Ziff-Davis titles count as Horror or as Sci-Fi?

PovertyRow
Arty's new try did it! He transposed Harvey and Ace! The result? Atlas (399 issues) ACG (123 issues) Ace (98 issues - or 97 as the existence of Hand Of Fate #26 is questionable) Harvey (96 issues) Phew! Arty - PM a mailing address for the book. (FINLAND!!!!!!!!???? OMG!)
Crowzilla
I might have talked you into it - but don't move Atlas out of #1. I'm telling you - they had at least a couple of dozen horror titles, and that's not counting Strange Tales 3 years or so before the code.
