I've been reading through the original GI Joe Marvel series. I noticed an ad in issue 56 from Feb 1987. There is an ad on page 8 from Robert Crestohl (Price Guide advisor since 1974) and Gerry Ross (The Comic Master). Prices are for G/VG, VG/F, F/NM.

Amazing Fantasy #15 - $240, $400, $750

Amazing Spider-Man #1 - $185, $300, $550

Avengers #1 - $80, $135, $260

Daredevil #1 - $50, $80, $150

FF #1 - $280, $450, $825

Incredible Hulk #1 - $165, $240, $435

JIM #83 - $100, $160, $300

ToS #39 - $87.50, $125, $225

TTA #27 - $100, $160, $300

X-Men #1 - $95, $150, $285

Be very, very glad you didn't buy any of these books from them.

The odds are better than great you would have ended up with a book that was badly overgraded, restored, or both.

So there's some consolation in that.

For real. Now Ross will be here threatening lawsuits.....

I wonder what people 20 years from now wish they could come here and do... hm

They'll wish they had sold all their comics to the suckers just before the crash.

The day a time machine is invented is the day all collectibles will be worthless.

but couldn't you then, go back in time and buy up all the AF15s and TEC27s and destroy all but 10 causing them to be more valuable.

Would you be able to as a comic collector?

Considering I was 11 yrs old in 1987, even at those prices the comics are more attainable now. (thumbs u

I would hoard them more likely.

They made over 100,000 AF15's :)

How would you find all of them?

It's a time machine scenario, so realistically none of this is rational, but if I had to try, I would connect with a much younger Stan Lee before he releases the AF15, and make a deal to purchase half of them to redistribute them.
