PGM New Mutants 98.....Printing Error?

Hey True Believers!

 

Finally got my hands on this beautiful book....However, I noticed what seems to be a printing error. It's the black streak in the yellow-blonde hair. I've looked at a few other books....some CGC'd 9.6 and 9.8...that have this black streak also. Some marks are larger than others. Can anyone tell me if this is a known printer error? Will CGC take this into consideration? It Aside from that mark...it will get pressed...and should get a 9.8 with white pages. Thoughts?

 

Also, may be in the wrong forum topic.....but It's going to get signed at the end of the month....should I have Liefield sign over the mark? I really want this to get a 9.8

Hard to tell from your pictures, but I wouldn't get my hopes up for that 9.8 if I were you. Yes, I believe the black mark to be a printing error that shouldn't affect the CGC grade, but there still seems to be some very minor corner and edge issues from your pics that cause me to question whether this can get a 9.8. Best of luck though!

Looks pretty close to my CGC 9.6 which still will get you some decent coin, or look good in your collection if you intend to keep. If you have a few extra bucks, just press and submit hope for the best, in my opinion...

The black smudge is a printing defect, should not affect the grade at all.

 

Pressed? Why it’s so important to you to have a "9.8" number on a case? It’s a beautiful copy regardless, who cares?
