Detective COMICS No.31 SCAM??? Ebay Item number: 6501385207

This fellow has one HIGH GRADE unrestored copy on Ebay Raw and uncertified.

 

The book looks to be 7.5-8.0 but the seller seems to only sell videos.

 

Red flags are going off and I am interested in the book but very suspecious.

 

What does the Forum member think about this auction.

 

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Ask a lot of questions: Is the book restored? Is the centerfold attached at both staples? Ect. The seller gives a "non-comic collector" description (Very Good condition on a scale of 1 to 10, it's an 8 1/2).

Seller claims book is unrestored. Seem pretty remarkable for a GA KEY being offered by a Video Seller, unless the book has been consigned to him.

Metropolis has a CGC 6.0 Rockford copy for $ 17,500.00,.....2X Guide.

I think I've seen that book before. Have to research it.

 

I don't agree that it is a 8.5 like he says. The upper right corner looks pretty worn, as do the cover inks. I would have to guess more like 6.0-6.5.

 

I e-mailed him but haven't gotten a response yet. Could be a hijacked account.

Can't compare any other Tec 31 to Metropolis' copy. The book is gorgeous but fatally flawed with acidic tape residue eating away at the areas it was applied. At that price they have two chances of selling it. Slim and none.
