Cool, might be right. The movie is listed as a Comedy on IMDB. The comic background didn't sound like it matched up:

This comic series is supposedly based upon a North Carolina man who recovered from an automobile accident which claimed the lives of his wife and children to go on to perform stunts to raise money for children coping with disabilities, according to the letters column in the first issue.
