Lois Lane #4 3.5 CR/OW $75

The PQ is more OW, but it drifts into CR/OW towards the edges. There's some rippling on the front cover, but the book looks to have possibly been pressed and it's not much of an issue. There's some tearing at the staples, but both staples are still firmly attached. Despite the obvious defects, the gloss and color are both excellent for the grade and the book is flat, tight and supple in hand. I was tempted to grade it higher, but that rippling kept it down.

Cover is completely detached and is split along the spine roughly 40% of the length of the spine. However book sits flat and tight and is a nice looking copy for the grade.

Last pre-code issue.

 

1" split in lower left spine. Book sits flat and tight and is still firmly attached at the staples. A nice looking book for the grade.

Action Comics #76 4.5 OW/W $500

It looks like 6.0 or better upon first glance, but a NCB crease (subscription?) and three small tears on the right edge keep it down. There is also some tearing around the lower staple, but despite that, the cover is still firmly attached at that staple. The crease does not seem to go through the whole book. On the plus side, the book sits flat and tight and has an excellent PQ of OW/W. The book is supple in hand with no brittleness or even tanning that is typical of books this age. A fantastic looking book.
