My introduction to BLACKHAWK was with MODERN COMICS #44 back in 1945...

I was surprised to find a BLACKHAWK #224 in a group of comics I picked up a

while back at an auction. It appears BLACKHAWK had a long run.

I've only read a handful of the SA Blackhawks, but was a fan of the BA series when DC started it up again in '75-76. I believe Mark Evanier wrote some of the late 70's books. I'll have to eventually search out some earlier issues.

Oh yeah, I was reading it at its tail end in the early 80s

Just be sure to avoid "The New Blackhawk Era" of the late 60s.

Those books are so bad they could be weaponized.
