Hi, got this on the mail today.

 

Was really happy until I noticed that there was a date on the top above "Spi" in pencil that was erased. Seems that the eraser got into the top of the "spider" letters and brushed a bit of ink from it. Had to decrease brightness from scan otherwise it would not be seen.

 

Rusty staple + looks like faint tiny foxing spots on top.

Thanks. I never know how to account for rusty staples. So how do you get to that grade? Is there a specific downgrade for this flaw or is it that there is a limit on a book with rusty staples?

It seems Overstreet goes by the shade of discoloring. The deeper the color and the further travel the more it holds the book down and limits it reaching a high grade. I do not see a specific down grade, no. Rather a cap on the highest grade it can attain.
