My copy is not bad as I remembered, although it has a piece off the back cover which surely brings down the grade pretty much.

 

Oh well, it was the best I could afford at the time, I believe.

 

I think it’s hard that I will upgrade, unless it cools off.

3.0 due to the large piece missing from the back. I had it as a 5.5 without the missing piece.

I was spot on with 1Cool. 5.5 until I got to that back cover.

No way it gets a 3.0.

 

Do you not remember the ASM 1 that looked 7.0+ on the FC yet had a piece missing. Granted a larger piece but it was much nicer than this copy.

 

2.5 tops...

I had an X-Men 1 with a staple pull and a chunk about that size out of the front cover and it got a 2.5. I could see CGC giving it a 2.5 but I'm giving it a good shot at a 3.0 based on what I've seen lately.

You’re right as it is the accumulation of defects to be taken into account, but I also think the area of the missing piece is crucial, and really have not enough expertise with CGC grading to tell in this case… :shrug:

Of course not, it’s my collection copy, I have only this one. The only reason for which I would have a book graded would be to sell it, but I have not done so yet as I generally prefer to sell raw.

Yeah, that is EASILY a 3.0! NO WAY is it lower than that.
