Not sure how to grade this gem. The center fold is present but its completely detached from the staple. The rest of the pages seem secure.

If that is just the centerforld being detached, it can grade as high as a FN, maybe FN+ if the book is nice – they are more lenient with GA books as it was common for the centerfold to get detached with the number of pages… and even more so in the single staple period.

All in all, no less than FN-/FN, I’d say.

That is a wonderful book! Did you purchase it for yourself?

6.0ish. Don't sweat the CF. Knock out that spine roll.

I'll probably just throw it up for sale and let the next guy do that. The single staple looks secure but I'm not touching it. lol

You have got to keep in mind that the Golden Age books from this period are 64 pages and have a single staple. "Completely detached" in Zzutax analysis applies in general, but if you have a single staple as long as it gets detached the centerfold is fully detached. In such a nice shape I don’t think it won’t grade under FN, FN- at worst.

The fanning/roll and detached CF keep it out of FN for me, considering also the tears at the staple, and light corner wear. It has great eye-appeal and the roll could be corrected, but as it stands I have to agree with 5.0.
