Isn`t Universal also part of NBC who has given Constantine renewal fits?

Good luck Matt Fraction and Kelly Sue DeConnick!

With that being said SEX CRIMINALS will get higher TV ratings on the name alone.

First season will be a big hit, as people will tune in to find out about Sex Criminals.

A group of three people, two women, one man, who are living in an apartment in California in the late 70's. There's a blond and a brunette. The landlord doesn't like the idea of a co-ed living arrangement so the male roommate has to pretend that he's gay to be allowed to live there. Then there's some sort of misunderstanding.

What's it about?

The first arc is about two people who experience time stopping when they orgasm - similar to a Zack Morris Timeout. Both think this is unique to them. However, they meet one night and hook up and realize they share this "power."

The female is trying to save a library that is in debt a bank, so they start stealing from the bank to pay what is left on the library's loan. They do so by having sex/stopping time. They soon realize there are others like them when they encounter what they refer to as the "sex police."

I started to tell my friend about the book and he just kept saying Time Cop with sex.

The superhero anthology series Wild Cards, edited by a then young George R.R. Martin, had a character called Fortunato that brought forth his powers through tantric sex magic. It was definitely a different form of inspiration for powers than I had read before.

Fortunato is a character from the Wild Cards series of books. He was created by Lewis Shiner. He is a pimp, but prefers to downplay, even to himself, the negative aspects of his "escort" business (calling his prostitutes "geishas", for example). Fortunato is also an ace. His wild card grants him immense telepathic and telekinetic powers. These include but are not limited to: mind control; flight; force walls; mental blasts; reading the future (and the past) and subjective temporal manipulation. Dr. Tachyon believes him to be Earth's most powerful mental/telepathic wild card. Fortunato derives all his power from tantric sex magic.

I wonder if that had any inspiration for these comics.

They all yell "come and knock on our door" before engaging in battle.

Ah, cool fact. I did not know that. It may have been an inspiration.

The allure of the series is in the writing. It's smart and funny. It avoids the childish one liners and low-hanging fruit that some would use as a crutch when writing about such a topic.

The "sex police" part almost sounds like the "vegan police" in Scott Pilgrim.

And, as it turns out, the blond in interchangeable.
