Grade this House of Secrets #92

Scott,

I think that back cover is.... as you said... keeping the book from grading higher.

Your 5.0 - 5.5 is probably accurate. And very fair.

Staining of any kind seems to be among the biggest downgradable flaws a book can have.. but is sooo hard to actually determine exactly how much a downgrade it should recieve.

That is a nice book, in solid shape. You owned it long?

As Rhino noted, I bought this from a used bookstore employee in Rockford, IL over Christmas vacation for $40. I also got a copy of ASM#122 in about 7.5/8.0 condition for $50 and a copy of ASM#123 in 6.0 or so (would be a 9.2 except for a subscription crease) for $10.

6.0

That's probably the grade it would get slabbed, but the foxing and other stuff mentioned make it a not so sharp Fine.

Why the bump? wink.gif

I didn't notice this thread until I saw the link in the marketplace.

Just can't resist grading Silver and early Bronze age stuff... insane.gif

5.0 to 5.5 is a good call. I had a couple of X-men #94 and 95 come back 5 and 5.5. They had similar wear.
