Interesting that the article references Jim Starlin and Captain Marvel as the movie version will be female. (And I don't think he ever worked on that incarnation. Though I'm sure someone will prove me wrong.)

Captain Marvel will be in the MCU and die to give Carol her powers. They wont pass up on that good a story. The Kree are just being introduced in shield, so I am sure, in addition to the inhumans shield will also set up Captain Marvel's and the Kree's back story. (I doubt he appears in the show, but the Kree back story that leads to him, will be in it)
