For the people with very valuable collections they can take out a fine art clause on their homeowners. Otherwise fire safe and keep away from water damage in a locked secure area.

 

There is a thread somewhere about how some fire safes degrade comics over time

My State Farm agent worked out a policy in addition to my homeowners insurance. I collect moderns so the value isn't 6 figures or anything but with original art and statues it can climb. I now have a policy just for my collection and every year when I renew, I give them a new spreadsheet with my comics, art and statues (updated values).
