you guys hammered this book pretty hard for a sub crease and the back cover shadow (or is that a tanning issue?)

 

I see this as a 5.0 and that's why I bought it.

4.5, maybe 5.0. That sub crease is pretty pronounced.

The sub-crease and the pronounced dust shadow pretty much keep this in the VG range, IMO.

Books with sub creases are often times among the most attractive books for their technical grades. You make a valid point. The book appears nicer than 90%+ of the graded 4.0's out there.

Light water stains on the back cover along the spine clinches it, 4.0 for sure.

Nice looking copy to be sure but I can't see giving it higher than 4.0 with the sub crease and the sun and or dust shadowing on the back cover

it's rare that I've seen a sub-crease book get beyond a 4.5

I'd say it's worth the $50. That book should have been Thor #1.

Guide says you did okay, and I agree. Low and mid-grade silver age Thors generally sell under book, but people hold on tighter to the 126.

Yeah, you can always find Thors on the market, but this one less so. I'd have paid $50 for it.
