No problem with the listed, but it drives me INSANE that Cosmic Odyssey doesn't rate. The story was DC canon, defines Batman as a SUPERHERO at roughly the same timeperiod as Miller's Year One re-defined his origin (late eighties). Not to mention Starlin and Mignola are both writer/artists so you get this amazing blend of scope and pacing.

 

And come on, seriously. Cosmic Odyssey has Batman as part of a team of two defending EARTH. The whole frikkin' planet. Plus it has maybe the best Batman FIGHT ever. I'm talking toe-to-toe, to the death knock-down drag out BRUTAL.

 

Cosmic Odyssey puts Batman among gods and super-powered beings and defines Batman is both a command presence and not intimidated by any of their BS.

 

Arrrgh. To do an "Evolution of Batman" list and leave out Cosmic Odyssey skips past one of Batman's most character-defining epics to date.

Period.
