Early Image Appreciation Thread

Boardies,

I'd like to share my collection of early Image books with you!

If you have any early Image CGC SS, please share!

Two years ago I returned to the hobby and was introduced to CGC graded books and Signature Series. I decided to recollect my favorite books from when I was 9 years old in CGC SS 9.8.

When Image comics began, I gravitated to these books in the comic shops. The art really caught my eye and from that point forward I've been an Image fan.

Here is an early photo of the founders!

Very cool. I liked a lot of early Image stuff. Spawn, Savage Dragon, Pitt, Shadowhawk, Wildstar, Youngblood, Brigade/Bloodstrike and the like were all fun to me. I know that the stories themselves were mostly just okay but when mixed with the art, it worked for me at the time. Who didn't like Spawn vs Overtkill ? lol

I really liked Spawn's concept and art. Think about it, an anti-hero with unlimited firepower but a set amount to use before the power was all gone. That was a great idea imo. I also loved McFarlane and Capullo in their prime. Great team.

That is a great collection you have there. Congrats :applause:

I have a Spawn #1 McFarlane, but you've got that one covered.

Not sure if this is early enough for an Image book, but it's early for a CGC SS book... one of the first SS ever.
