The Man from UNCLE

I'm curious if the upcoming movie will have any kind of bump for the comics?

I'm betting "no." Does anyone under the age of 50 know anything about Napoleon and

Illya? Does anyone care?

I loved the original series, as deeply and passionately as only an 11-year old boy can.

But sheesh, it does not hold up -- campy nonsense.

I just saw the preview for the new Guy Ritchie version, and it looked ... hmmm ... kind

of dumb. They're playing it way too tongue-in-cheek, at least for my tastes.

But it reminds me of "This Means War" (2012), with Chris Pine and Tom Hardy fighting

over Reese Witherspoon. THAT was a bad movie.

BTW - there is a van Dyke episode with Godfrey Cambridge, called "The Man

from my Uncle" -- one of the better episodes.
