Some new ebay thing?

5 posts in this topic

So I was watching the countdown on one of my auctions it got down to 10 sec then it jumped back to 50 sec and counted down again.

Is this some new ebay thing to get more from double sniping?

If you didn't hit refresh recently, it's probably just an anomaly.

I've had an ebay auction on a tab for some 30 minutes (forgot it was there) and the time might show, for example 20 seconds left...but when I hit refresh or bid, it will say "This Auction has ended." When I check the time it says it ended almost a minute earlier. <-in this case, it's working in the opposite direction.

It wasn't a one-time thing. I'd say it's happened maybe 5 times to me. Always when looking at a browser window that I had left open for 10-15 minutes and didn't refresh..

It's as if the automatic count-down counter is slower than EBay's clock. In your case, it seems the count-down counter is faster than the time.

What I did was log out of ebay so I could watch the countdown on ebay in real time without having to refresh.

I just sniped on a book the other day(did not win) and the time was counting down normally, no problems or abnormalities.

I just go to "place bid" and watch the clock from that page.

Usually open the page about 30 minutes before the auction ends and then open a new window and do other things while I am waiting.
