Favorite writer on SSOC?

Just curious -- who's your favorite SSOC writer?

 

I think I prefer Roy Thomas's earlier, 70s stuff, to his 90s material.

 

Michael Fleisher and Chuck Dixon also wrote the book for several years. What do you guys think of thier runs?

To me, issue 1-100 are solid. I prefer Roy Thomas's writing in the 70s. The title lost its flare in the 80s and the 90s stuff is just ok to me.

For me, Thomas overall, but that may have also been because he did the most work while I was still collecting comics back in the early ''80s.

My favourite cover is issue 2’s by Neal Adams.

 

Favourite inker over John Buscema - Tony DeZuniga. I’m sure others will prefer Alfredo Alcala.

 

Walter Simonson did some nice art for the Hyborian Age feature, and Frank Brunner for the main story in issue 30.
