Question regarding sketches.

Quick question for all those that know about sketches. How much have you guys paid to get an artist do a sketch for you on blank comics? Ive gotten zero sketches done. I know colored sketches cost more since they require more time. So who here likes to get sketches done?

They can range depending on the artist. Anywhere from $150-$1000 is normal depending on the artist popularity.

Never understood people paying $800 for a sketch cover when the artists original published pages sell for like $300.

Just keep in mind they are becoming more expensive

and are more difficult to resell (If you decide to...)

 

Some seller complain about losing money when they resell...

 

Sometime buying a sketch book already done

will be way more cheaper that ordering/creating a new one...

May be best to do a little homework on the artists that interest you in regards to the fee they charge. Add them up with the CGC cost and compare them to prices on eBay. Many really nice sketches tend to sell for less on eBay than the current rates it takes to get one done.
