PGM Fantastic Four 48

Hey guys! First time posting! Been loving the forums so far.

 

I bought this Fantastic Four #48 this summer at my local con, and sent it last month to CBCS (because I also sent other comics that included a Batman 232 that I got signed by Neil Adams. So I had to go with the CBCS signature verification service due to the fact that there was no CGC witness at the con).

 

I've been wondering what the grade for this would be, because I'm not the best grader and I was wondering what it'd come back as!

I know it's a pretty beat up copy but I've been collecting for a few years now and this has become one of my biggest key issues!

CBCS? Remember who hosts this forum. A bit of bad form there.

Yeah I know... I was just hesitant to send it to CGC because I don't send enough books to make a subscription worth it, and also I wanted to get that unwitnessed signature verified...

I usually only buy CGC slabs though.

I would not say it's "bad form", since he specified he choose to send them to CBCS mostly for the signature verification service.

 

It would be useful to have CGC do that too…

I’d say in the 3.0-3.5 range, but it presents pretty nicely.

I was thinking around a 4.0-4.5, but then again, I think I'm the worst grader known to man (may also have a bit of bias on the subject ).

 

I've had people offer me 400$ CAD (so like 300$ USD) for that book. What do you think?

I think it’s maybe a bit high? – I paid $400 for my FN-range copy, raw of course… It also depends if you are talking of a graded or raw copy. Some people probably feel reassured in buying this book graded.

That's a very nice copy! And I was talking 400$ Canadian, so that's around 300$ american dollars.

tough to grade by the angled pictures. lots of defects on both front and back covers from what I can see. 3.0/3.5

3.5 A bit too nice to go lower IMHO. Nice book for your collection.
