Except for the #8 it is hard for me to tell you, in words, just how nice these are. Phenomenal covers. Just awesome.

In this shape (except the #4) these books are hard to find, and expensive. As books to read they are okay, the painted covers alone are worth it however.

 

NOTE: the #4 may be REALLY hard to find. No idea why.

a. Staples are all good

b. #1 is beat up but solid structurally,

c. In fact, other than #'s 17 (cover detached bottom staple), 27-29 (moisture damage) and 30 (centerfold detached top staple) all books are very solid structurally

d. a couple of books would be improved by a press but it IS just a hand-full and even then one would be hard pressed to get past a 6.5 on the best candidates of those

e. Some issues have foxing

I am was blown away when I picked these up and remain so every time I look at them. Only the #3 looks 'normal' in hand - the other 3 are just fabulous. Colours are deep and vibrant. I am thrilled to own these books. Every single one of them is pressable.

 

Isaac Asimov, Poul Anderson, Anne McCaffrey, Larry Niven, Robert Silverberg - a serious science fiction anthology of works produced under the Whitman label. Not something you see every day, and not in this kind of condition.

Book grades out at a 3.5 to 4.5 depending on how you feel about the foxing along the top edge - that said, no water damage or staining. No top staple.

Flash Gordon - 9 book lot sale

If you want early KING Flash Gordon reader copies that present really, really well then you have found the right thread. Don't let the glue notes fool you - the #1 is still very readable so you are getting a pretty sweet looking book (probably a 5.5 or 6.0 without the glue problem) given the price.

 

Also - the cover art for the #7 totally rocks. Great cover.
