Printers Proof Question

I purchased a big assortment of 50s and early 60s printers proofs of various covers (various publishers, including atlas, no super heroes though) from a dealer on ebay about 12-15 years ago who sells a lot of interesting nostalgia stuff, been at it a while, etc. these came out of someone's estate i believe.

 

Would these be one-of-a-kind items normally from that era or would each issue have multiple proofs of the cover for whatever reason?

 

these looked cool and i spent a chunk of loot (collectively) on them at the time (i was flush back then...no kids) and i thought i would frame some...but alas, nicely framing them is going to cost money and i just don't have it in me. plus, were i going to spend money framing something i have OA that would take priority.
