I was asked to provide a few detail shots of the top front cover for Journey Into Mystery 112. I passed these on in PM but thought I would slap them up in here as well within the spoiler tag:

I'm thinking the darker coloration on the top may be ink. I found a shot of another copy with the same coloration up there, although haven't noticed it on every one I've come across. You can see this inset image has a similar color in that area:
