Your favourite signatures...

the title says it all, wich signatures you love most and which ones you would never put on a comic cover, from an asthetic point of view?

 

I really like W. Simonson, Adam hughes for it's simple and funny take, Adam Kubert, Wil Eisner and Frazetta of course.

 

One i really dislike (and is one of my favourite artists) is Jjim Starlin. His sigs imho simply ruin the book, from an asthetic/ personnal point of view, of course.

 

Stan Lee isn't a bad one, but when he uses (the majority of time) a fat marker, it simply ruins the book.

 

what are your choices?

Steranko has a gorgeous signature.

 

Other artists have two signatures, regular and "artist style".

I have to say I love the little Stegosaurus Ryan Stegmen draws his name into. Classically I think Claremont, Conway, and Perez all have attractive sigs and they place them well.

Sterenko & Frazetta have signatures that are, themselves, a work of art.

 

Perez (beautiful style)

 

McFarlane (simplicity)

I have ssigs that aren't cgc'd John Romita

Then my favorite signatures that I own are Elvis Presley,Vivian Leigh, and Amy Winehouse.

Steranko & Frazetta both have really pretty sigs.

 

Simonson's is unique.

 

Mike Kaluta has a really nice one that blends with his art, rather than overpower it. Same with Eduardo Risso.

I am not big on signatures but that being said I have seen a Doctor Strange 1 with a stunning Brunner sig in either silver or white - beautiful book which I should have picked up.

 

Steranko's sig always looks impressive as does Adam's.

J Scott campbells sig is awesome. My all time fav. Nei ruffino has a sweet sig as well.

 

John Cassaday has a terrible sig. nothing but a couple sqwiggles. Same with Francis manapul.
