Most misused comic book character?

Killgrave/Purple Man

 

People see the trailer for Jessica Jones and feel :o:fear:

 

His power and sinister nature make him such a creepy villain. But did anyone really know about him outside of Daredevil collectors? If he had been a Spider-Man villain first, I can imagine he would have been much more popular and a household name.

I completely agree with Vaillant!! Hellstrom is my favorite character. I always get excited when he gets an appearance, like Chaos War, Doctor Voodoo, Fear Itself:The Fearless, Journey Into Mystery, Avengers Undercover, etc. I hated the Max series. Giving him a back tattoo, instead of the star on him chest, was a slap in the face equal to the West Coast Avengers costume. The best, though, was from Chaos War:God Squad. They had what looked like a sloppy Star of David on Hellstrom's chest on some of the interior panels. Really??!! How do you let that one get by?

And to be distinguished I would personally pick one of my favorites, Daimon Hellstrom, gone since the 1993 series.

You can re boot a character merely by bringing him into the modern world same as they do with old movies like Walking Tall. Instead of having Parker become some weird twisted version of the character, you make him a nerd who gets super powers just like he always was. But now the year is 2015 not 1962.
