PGM: Batman 181 (OFFICIALLY CGC GRADED)

Hello,

 

I've been a member of the forum for a little bit but really haven't posted much stuff. However, I have had the pleasure of making a few key purchases with a couple of members of the forum. Today, I present my most recent acquisition - Batman 181. I have been wanting this book for a long time and finally decided to pull the trigger on an unslabbed copy. I plan on sending it to CGC in the near future but wanted to get some opinions from those who are a little more acclimated to CGC's grading standards. I do not have the book in hand yet so I apologize if the pictures make it difficult to form a decisive opinion.

Tough based on the pictures. I'd say conservatively a 5.0. But upwards of a 6.5 if it's cleaned.

Really pretty book. Unless that URC crease is stronger in hand, I'd throw out a guess of 6.5 just as is; nice gloss and structure and the colors really pop.

I received the book today. It presents much better than I expected. I will submit to CGC in the future and post the results. I'll be disappointed with less than a 6.0 and pie in the sky is 7.5. Here's to wishing in one hand...

Nice to see detailed pictures. You should have no trouble getting a 6.0 to 6.5. The cover crease and multiple spine cracks breaking colour prevents it from getting higher.
