Bad luck on Ebay lately

Yes, that was it. The book was at least protected in a hard plastic case that did not get damaged. So, the scratches on the cover were not caused by the Post Office.

The seller is a liar.....unless it's just not showing up for some reason in the photo you took.

From the description in his auction......"New photos posted. Show actual comic... after photos comic went back into millcase."

From one of the photos he posted in his auction:

Couldn't the seller turn the tables and just say the buyer switched the book and is trying to scam him?

Unfortunately, it's going to be tough battle.

Just return the book for a full refund.

Yeah, except for the fact that ebay favors the buyer. In cases like these, it pays off.

This sort of thing happens all the time. Happened to me with a Nyx #3 and a Batman (52) #1. Then unscrupulous buyer ends up with an upgraded book no matter how this turns out.

Not taking sides, but the bottom of the numbers are there in the 2nd photo, they're just somewhat hidden behind the edge line. If you look at the numbers immediately to the right, you can see red above the line of the edge, more visible because of the angle. Looking VERY closely, you can see some red above the edge line at the spot in question. If the photo view were straight on, I think the bottom of the would be plainly seen.

That's possible.....I was thinking some of what you're talking about could be a reflection off of the plastic case...but I could be wrong. It's hard to tell with the book in the plastic case and it's not a very clear picture. The buyer will need to examine the book in hand to be sure.

It could be a reflection (shrug)

IMO, Starting from the right and moving left, the black and red on the edge can easily be seen above the white line that the slab edge creates. At the spot in question, the black edge ends at the 1st black arrow, then becomes red and stays that way between the 2 red arrows before becoming black again at the 2nd black arrow. I believe the same can be seen at the other 2 numbers (3 and the 1st 0), but it's easier seen at the last 0.

Just my 2c
