3.0 max because of the stains and tears which CGC would hammer you on. Wouldn't pay more than $300 for it.

Havent bought it yet. And after confirming what I already suspected, not going to. Im going to bide my time and get a nicer one that I can be really happy with. Probably not over a fine, but ya never know.

 

If it's (one of) your gail(s), I'd hold out for a full VG since it's not a mega $$$ book.

I would even get one that's slabbed just to be safe from the trimmers and painters out there.

Aces, good advice, and what i am planning on doing. When I was calling some shops, the owner of one called me about this book, but figured I would take a look anyway. I am planning on buying on CGC graded, as it has the resto check, and saves me no less than $40 in grading fees (i was using the CS fee).

2.5 worst-case, 3.5 best case. therefore 3.0 is what grade I would assign.

Well the right edge seems about right given where the staples are - However, the Stain and, or the Tear in the back are the compelling factors to take this out of the VG grade, when combined with all the other defects IMO.

 

Looks like a G/VG to me, at least thats what I'd call it by applying the OSGG. Still low grade SA comics are not my strong suit.

Without seeing the insides I'd say GD- up to GD/VD just seeems to be to many stress, chips and stains for much higher than the GD/VG
