Do we seriously need two threads?
Do we seriously need two threads?

I created one thread and I made it way before before the second one was created. If you have an issue, talk to the other guy for not doing a simple thread search and creating another thread. I'm on the boards all the time. He only comes on to promote BIG APPLE CON and WINTERCON. That's it.

I also posted my link in the second thread to let everyone know that this one was up. I can't control what other people post or respond to.

When there was a sale on tickets, I posted it here and not the other thread. Peeps who paid attention here got their discounted tickets on Leap Day thanks to the info I knew and shared.

I do this to keep people aware of what's going in the NYC area be it a con or store signing. I post what's necessary once. If you see it, great. If not, that's fine too. Either way, I don't lose sleep at night.

Have a wonderful day.

You're right. I made an assumption that the more heavily trafficked thread (the one with more posts) was the earlier thread without bothering to check. My bad, and my apologies for dumping on yours instead of the correct "second thread". :foryou:

NYC's Best Cosplay & Costume Contest This Saturday At Big Apple Con!

Comic Books, Celebs, Collectibles & More!

Saturday, March 5th 10am~6pm Penn Plaza Pavilion, NYC

MIKE CARBONARO’s BIG APPLE CON, New York City's longest-running Pop Culture convention, returns to PENN PLAZA PAVILION (401 7th Ave @ 33rd Street -opposite Madison Square Garden) on SATURDAY, MARCH 5, 2016 from 10am to 6pm. And CAPTAIN ZORIKH'S COSTUME CONTEST will once again bring the most amazing costumers and Cosplayers together for a fast-paced, exciting show of creative excellence!

CAPTAIN ZORIKH'S COSTUME CONTEST has been a tradition at BIG APPLE CON for over 13 years, and is now bigger than ever! Come as any character in comics, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, cartoons, anime/manga, video games, or make up your own. Sign up cards will be available on-site. The excitement begins at 3:15pm with DC and Marvel Comics themed photo shoots organized by DC Cosplayers East and the Marvel Cosplayer Network. The costume contest follows immediately after in the Globetrotter room in the basement of the PENN PLAZA PAVILION, and the grand finale is a big photo shoot for all in costume, regardless of whether they were in the costume contest or not!

Contestants may be individuals or may enter as groups. When the contest begins (about 3:50pm), the contestants will line up, come on stage, and turn in their sign-up cards person by person and group by group. Each contestant or group will get 45 seconds to present themselves to the audience. Any pre-recorded sounds must be self-contained (you must bring your own sound system/boom box/accordion/etc). The level of audience applause will be tracked by Captain Zorikh's patented "Applause-O-Meter." Applause will be judged by volume and enthusiasm, not duration. At the end all contestants return to the stage for the Parade of Costumes, and then the winners will be announced and invited to come back onto the stage to receive their prizes!

Prizes and Sponsors include:

Discovery Center (home of the "Star Wars: The Power of Costume"and "The Vikings" exhibits): Several pairs of passes.

Forbidden Planet NYC: hundreds of dollars of prize merchandise.

Halloween Adventure Costume Shop: a $100 gift certificate.

I apologize for the confusion about the two threads. I admit that I only scrolled back a few pages rather than using the "search" function before posting the new thread. I appreciate all the support Jason gives us and and had no intention of stepping on his toes. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing you in the funny papers!
