PGM Dell - Combat 21, Sep '66 (bargain bin find)

4 posts in this topic

OK. I am not a fan of war books, but I came across this gem in cheap bin box and was floored at the condition. Didn't know anything about this title, but it stuck out like a beacon amongst all the mid to low grade drek in the box. It had to come home with me. No number on the cover, but the publishing info says this issue 21, Sep '66.

At first, I thought this book was a 9.6, but conservatively speaking, maybe a 9.4. There are 3 very minor, non-color breaking spine ticks between the staples that's hard to spot (probably due to it being in the bin) and the bottom right corner is a bit soft. Other than that, the book is beautiful. Full cover gloss and the PQ is also quite nice as well.

Thought?

Update. Someone mentioned it to me. That little mark above the T in the word balloon is just an artificact from the scanner. The book itself is clean.

Looking at it here,i agree with your first grade,9.6.What a beauty!

I looked as hard as I could, and only saw one small, non colours breaking spine crease that would probably disappear if you put a half dozen encyclopedias on the top.

Im thinking lizards 2 would be crazy over this book!

Again,gorgeous.

9.6

Back cvr spine area can be cleaned of scuffs with white eraser.

Never go near outer corners of comic with eraser.
