So who won the Hulk # 181 ?!?

174 posts in this topic

Another thread about this? Here is the way I see it. Those of you who think this is shady business practice, that is fine and I understand your view. Those of you who don't, that is fine and I understand your view. Russel has made it perfectly clear that he is not going to change the rules and it is also clear that nobody is going to change their mind about how he runs his company. If you don't like him don't buy from him. This discussion is pretty meaningless. confused-smiley-013.gif

By the way, I give Russell and the people of Comic Supply thumbsup2.gifthumbsup2.gif

Not one complaint in the three orders I've placed with them thus far.

Thank you Hobgoblin. It is funny that the people complaining never ordered a toothpick from me. Oh well, takes all kinds.

....and never will ! hi.gif

Best of luck on your next venture. 893crossfingers-thumb.gif

There have been several board members that have won his contest. I won a gift certificate,as did Jim(awe4one) and a board member won a $100 scratch-off,amongst others.

What some people don't seem to realize is that board members make up only a fraction of Russ's clients.Odds are that the top winners each month will be someone we never heard of.

The rules are posted. If you want to win a prize, you buy some product and you check in to see if you were the winner.

Casinos run drawings every day with a "winner needs to be present to win"caveat. No one [#@$%!!!] about them.

Russ delivers quality products quickly and at excellent prices. As far as I'm concerned, thats why I order, the contest are just icing on an already wonderful cake.

As long as he keeps up his products and pricing,I'll order contest or no contest.

What's going on here? Can someone fill me in? confused-smiley-013.gif

Another witch hunt and guys acting like [#@$%!!!] because of a personal vendetta. They don't even have a stake in the contest.

Buy from him if you like or don't. Use your best judgement. hi.gif

We will. Now why don't you STFU about the frigging contest already? Seventeen pages in the Marketplace on this topic wasn't enough for you?

Did you order something and have a stake in the contest? No. Has anyone who DID order something complained about the contest? No. Did Russell do something to you personally? No. Does he troll you from thread to thread? No. But you feel compelled to gang up on him anyway and start a thread in Comics General and act like you and the four or five people who agree with you form up some kind of moral majority and proclaim that there is "growing speculation" that his contest is not on the up and up. Pathetic!

Maybe instead of acting like a bully, you should stick to making your stupid cat pictures and leave the guy alone.

I just hit google. From http://contests.about.com/library/weekly/aa053098.htm

"Since many states require that you provide a mailing address to request a Winners List, you can ask for a SASE (stamped self-addressed envelope). You might also fulfill this requirement by posting the winners' list on your Website."

Winners list is fine, but, if the guy with the winning ticket for the Hulk 181 didn't contact Russ, he didn't win, thus no winner, no name to send you, no name to post.

The book was not won because the person failed to follow the instructions.

What's so hard about this that no one understands it?

There can be no winner if the person didn't follow the instructions.

Um......

Of course, we all have to agree it's nobler to reem out a 15-year-old on the boards for trying to flip a $10 book, right Scott? What was your personal stake in this transaction again, Scott?

Look, you should be happy now.... you got to use the phrase "witch hunt" again! You pick your issues, and I'll pick mine. Love ya'. flowerred.gif

Until Steve and Arch make a ruling on the issue of the CGC Boards being used as the personal launching pad for extremely questionable contests and business practices, and spamming them on a daily basis, this debate will go on.

I do not believe this is what the Marketplace was meant for. None of the other members/dealers here do anything resembling this or as relentlessly. They all contribute mightily in other areas. CS sole purpose for being here is to mine the rich load of collectors he stumbled upon. If he wants to sell his krap here fine, but enough with the over-the-top thread generation and with insulting our intelligence with these oily promotions. The guy obviously wouldn't know enough to pisss himself if his pants were on fire.

And Shad.....casinos don't come here and spam the Marketplace.Who gives a flyin' F what casinos do. If CS limited his contest promotions and announcements to sources other than here, then you won't hear a peep from any of us. He is seriously misusing the privileges we have here. That's right, posting items for sale in the Marketplace is a privilege, not a call to litter the forum with his purely commercial postings.

It was CS's choice to come here and hype the krap out of his business here. But he wants immunity from closer inspection. Not going to happen. I will not let this issue drop.

And in closing, I would suggest to Clive and Belladonna, that before they threaten a boardmember with legal action in pm, they should have their legal "team" examine their own legal liability in all this. CGC has some kickass lawyers from what I've heard!

Anyway, Gotta Run....literally. I'm sure FFB will have my hide when he finds me! Love ya Scott! hi.gif

Lady RedHook and I are hosting the second annual Red Hook Breakfast Run this morning. Just got back from posting all the mile markers and turn signs......a group from the famed Onteora Road Runners Club is heading over and we all do 6.2 miles and then head out to eat at Sweet Lou's Diner on route 9 in Red Hook.

We had about 5 inches of snow last night, and the plows are finishing up so the roads should be clear. I know Russ in praying I end up with my asss frozen face up in a snowdrift, but not yet!

See y'all later.
