Highest Graded Secret Wars in Pedigree Comics' January Modern Variants Auction!

Our upcoming January 2016 Modern Variants Grand Auction will highlight a fabulous group of Secret Wars issues and related titles. The auction is scheduled to begin in less than one (1) week, on the night of Monday, January 4th and last for ten (10) days until the night of Thursday, January 14th as a separate event on the Pedigree Comics website (www.PedigreeComics.com). The first half of lots will end on the night of Wednesday, January 13th and the second half on the night of the 14th. There is no Buyers Premium on any of the lots in the auction and EVERY item will have no reserve. Every book is CGC graded and there is no minimum bid for this special auction. The Modern Variants come from a collection of over 700 ultra high grade CGC certified comics (all “Modern” or Copper Age) out of Wellington, Florida that was recently consigned to us for the auction. Almost every book in the collection (over 98%) is a 9.6 and higher and most are 9.8 and higher. EVERY book was carefully picked out by the seller for its eye appeal, structure and centering. He would only buy a book from each stack if it was the absolute nicest looking one and was basically perfect. He also mainly chose the books based on their covers, concentrating on super heroes and #1 issues. He then submitted every one of his raw comics to CGC for certification with spectacular results, with no book getting less than a 9.4 grade (only a handful or two). Most of the books are the highest certified copy to date and a few are the single highest certified.

 

More than half of the books are Marvels (over 500) but there are other publishers as well, including DC (approximately 170 books), Image, Valiant, Dark Horse, Dynamite Entertainment, IDW, Radical Comics, Boom! Studios and Archie Publications. Almost every Modern comic book title you can think of is part of the collection in brand-new, scratch-free CGC holders and almost every issue is one type of variant or another.

 

The variants include sketch covers, variant covers, 3-D variant covers, movie variant covers, action figure variant covers, negative editions, premiere editions, retail incentive editions, sketch editions, special editions, limited editions, variant editions, etc., etc. In addition, there are a bunch of CGC Signature SERIES copies.

 

As you can imagine with this many modern books and the collector’s passion for only the nicest looking example of that particular issue he could find, EVERY book has WHITE pages with perfect registration and cover gloss. Overall, this is the greatest collection of Modern Variants ever offered for public sale. There are many great issues in the collection to upgrade on lower certified copies or to fill holes in your want-lists.

 

We are very proud to bring this incredible Modern Variants Collection to market. In addition to providing the usual high resolution scans of the front cover of each issue, we will provide larger size scans as well as back cover scans for any book in the run upon request. Again, EVERY book is professionally graded by the experts at the CGC and EVERY book will be listed without a reserve or minimum bid!
