Question regarding finger prints.

I've been missing from this forum for about six months so I apoligize if this has been asked already. Lets say you have a mint 9.9 or 10 except for the fact that there is a thumb print clearly visible on the front cover. What would be the down grade?

This sounds like a great "ask CGC" question. Can you post a scan of the cover of the book?

So, rubbing it with Kleenex won't make it go away?

I'm not sure, because I don't own a 10, but I would guess that a finger-print would be enough for the book to not get a 10.

There is no book. It' s just a curious question.

Just clean the print off.

Who knows what it really takes to get a CGC 10.0. Some say that a large bill inside the front cover gets you as far as a 9.9.
