Any character you wish never existed?

Gwen's Clone

man, I treasured the original clone story...

I thought it was truely original and gutsy for it's time in the early 70's

but I guess it's just me...

The new clone slop I totally agree with you...

Ugh!

On that note Ben Reily and the whole clone resurgence could of

stayed dead in that smokestack...

I don't know what a worse comeback - that or pudgy Axel Rose

Are you considered a character?

Then my choice is clear...Deathlok!

Yes, I was. hi.gif

bastige! err...that is, i really just wanted to have a chance to see that cover again, cause it has both Rocket Racer and the mighty mighty Big Wheel on it, which is a di-fecta of stupidity rarely exceeded

Venom

Doomsday

Venom and Doomsday were kick [#@$%!!!] in the begining! To much exposure sissy fide them.

I just wish Aunt May Never Existed..

Spidey would be a tougher character without her chain dragging him down.

In terms of Spidey villains, I agree with the choice of the Big Wheel, pretty stupid. Also a few other Spidey villains from that same era were equally bad. Rocket Racer, Will O the Wisp, I'm sure there are a few others in there too. can't remember the issue #, but what about the Spidey cover with "the kid who collected Spider-Man?" not a villain, but that one stands out for its corniness. also I hate the Spidey photo cover that came out somewhere in the 250-260 range.

going back to older characters...

I'd point to Tales of Suspense #48. "The Menace of Mr. Doll". I have the cover at home, but in the meantime anyone have a scan? The guy's name is Mr. Doll, and his evil power is that he has one clay voodoo doll he can continuously make into different people... pretty lame villain that I believe never re-appeared after this issue. The Scarecrow was kind of dumb too in issue #52. with no super-powers to speak of, a contortionist buys a scarecrow outfit. then, midway through the issue he suddenly gains the ability to command crows vis-a-vis antman and his ants.

In early Strange Tales, Paste-pot Pete was also pretty lame, especially once he got his new costume in Strange Tales 120-something. also Plant Man was a laughable villain.

Early Tales to Astonish contained a host of lame villains that the marvel universe could likely do without like the Porcupine and the Human Top.

just my 2 cents...
