Insane Final Price Drop- Decent GA books with a few SA - RECAP Last Page

47 posts in this topic

Good evening. This is going to be a late night thread because the kids fell asleep early on me tonight. I have a little over a dozen Golden Age books that presents very well and at some great prices.

Rules are as follows:

1) I will supply pictures of front and back cover. I will also give an estimated grade. Please examine the pictures carefully before selecting. If you have any questions, please let me know.

2) Returns will be accepted for 10 days after you receive the book for the total purchase price of the book. You will be responsible for postage costs.

3) Shipping is up to you. I can ship between cardboard and in an envelope for $4.00 or I can ship your items boxed for $10.00. This is a flat rate regardless how many books you purchase. This is good for customers with US address. I will sell outside the US, but you must cover exact postage cost.

4) First unconditional :takeit: wins, but PMs are welcomed.

5) No one from any naughty list allowed and I have the discretion to sell or not sell to anyone for any reason.

Now that the rules are out of the way, I hope you enjoy. Many of these are from the 1940's with little abuse. I am listing GA and SA reprints first for a reason. Anyone can purchase them at asking price OR claim one for FREE with a purchase (limit one per customer).

Nyoka the Jungle Girl #4

Book is from 1946 and features a great, colorful cover. The major issue is the crease in upper right but it doesn't break to much color. The crease is deep though and I doubt if it presses out. Some chips along bottom back cover. Still a wonderful looking book.

All Star Comics #47

Book is from 1949. A super hero book (obviously since Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Hawkman, etc is on cover) that presents from the front very well. Unfortunately I'm going to lose money on this one because it was sold to me as a FN+ and I only saw front cover. The back has some stains and a tear. I'm going to drop it a full grade. (ebay has one for about the same price, but 8 pages missing)

This one is complete. VG+

Price $200 SOLD

Thie mods will move this to the mixed age thread just a heads up.

They shouldn't. The reprints are of books from the gold and silver age.

Very true plus I'm offering them up as FREEBIE for purchases. I guess I can remove them if needed, but that's kind of a bummer.

^^ and thank you. I forgot to mention that this cover is unique in that it's a thicker stock then most books. Pretty neat to see that quality back then. Please feel free to claim a book in the first post.

New Funnies #148

Book is from 1949 and features rich colors. The major draw back is the piece missing on the bottom front cover. I'm going to offer this book at $10 for a book from the 40's and Woody Woodpecker is a well known character.

Yankee Comics #4 (WWII military issue)

Book is from 1942 and is smaller sized than a standard comic. This book has some neat history as it was distributed to people in the service during the early 40's. This one is in great shape with pencil mark on back. .

Uncanny Tales #41

Book is from 1956 and an Atlas book. This book presents very well unfortunately it's another book I will take a loss on. I purchased it as VG/FN but when I got it in hand, it felt smaller than norm. I'm convinced the book is trimmed so I will go 70% off the grade it was sold to me.
