Nice Golden Age Romance

LOVE DIARY # 42

Our Publishing Comp. 1954

Condition: Good / Very Good at minimum

Not Supple but not brittle Off White interior pages.

GRADING COMMENTS: The book is a bit dry and while it can be handled it should be done with some care. Scuffed spine has enough wear that you can see tiny holes on the spine from an interior view. 2/3 inch spine split on bottom of spine plus bottom front cover has edge chipping and a couple of seamless tears. The bottom right corner has an old moisture stain that really shows mainly on the interior side of the front cover and pretty much permeates every interior page tip right through to the back cover. Foxing on both interior cover sides plus on back cover. A little piece on the edge of the front cover's right side is ready to fall off.

This comic is 100% complete with no restoration.

ROMANTIC LOVE # 23

(AVON 1954)

Condition: VERY GOOD MINUS

Supple OFF-WHITE to WHITE interior pages.

Kinstler cover art.

Seller's Grading Notes: Foxing on both covers and interiors. Spine has chipping, wear on edge and small splits along with a less than 1 inch top spine split. Back cover shows heavier foxing along the edges with a 1.5 inch tear on the left edge, which also shows lots of chipping. Solid, supple and tight centerfold. Covers are attached to both staples and immediate areas near it only.

This comic is complete with no restoration of any kind.

Not supple but not dry light creme to off-white interior pages

Seller's Grading Notes: Detached staple on top of the FC and almost 1/2 detached staple on the bottom of the CF. Edge chipping and wear more so on the BC bottom left and bottom right corner of the FC. Foxing on both interior cover sides. Book still has a tight solid feel to it. Small grease pen marking in the L in the title. Small spine splits on both ends of spine (about a half inch each).

Beautiful book Roger. I love the Nedor Schomburgs. They seem somewhat under appreciated with little price change over the past 10 years. Some lucky buyer should snatch this.

SPACE DETECTIVE # 4 (Avon, 1952)

GRADE: VERY GOOD PLUS with Supple White pages

Seller's Notes: A glossy, solid and tight-by-the-2-staples comic. Innocuous wear includes a small curved tear on spine just to the left of the head of the redhead girl strapped on the bottom. The spine also has about 4 little splits with papers loss and scuffing on spine edge (inclusive of splits on top and bottom of spine). Nicer back cover assists. Bottom CF staple has a trace of rust. Back cover has small seamless edge tear that extends into a couple of pages. Small edge tear on FC edge and some edge and corner creases.

This comic is 100% complete with no restoration.

MY LOVE LIFE # 8

FOX FEATURE SYNDICATE 1949

Condition: VERY GOOD MINUS

Supple WHITE interior pages.

Story titles: MY FORBIDDEN AFFAIR - I GAMBLED WITH LOVE - plus other EXCITING LOVE STORIES

Grading Comments: Higher grade "but for" the 2 very rusty staples with bleed through through-out the interior pages where the staples connect. Bottom staple is detached from the covers and the top staple seems to be just holding on. Exceptional page quality on a glossy front cover, which contains the very common red-bleed through due to the poor pulp quality.

This comic is complete with no restoration of any kind.

LANA # 7

(MARVEL TIMELY 1949)

Condition: VG+ to VG/FN

Supple WHITE interior pages

Seller's Grading Notes: Bottom staple has a hint of rust. Very light penciling of a date on cover. Tight and solid including centerfold, which CF should be handled with a bit more care as the staples look to just be holding on there. Evenly distributed wear with tight creases on both covers. Back cover has a small stain, which also shows on corresponding interior side. Due to manufacturing (bottom staple placement) the comic opens as shown in photo. This fairly thick comic has great GGA reading including Nellie the Nurse and Millie the Model. A hard to find if not scarce comic.

This comic is complete with no restoration of any kind.

LOVERS # 53

ATLAS MARVEL COMICS 1953

"One Man Too Many," "Wedding Bells For Wendy" (art by Al Hartley), "Too Much in Love" (pencils by Gene Colan?), and "Leave Me My Love" (art by Jay Scott Pike).

Grading notes: Small chip out of the bottom left back cover corner. Crease on bottom right corner of FC. Light marker line on FC intersects the r in the title LOVERS. 2 tight staples and a tight center-fold. Some light and common red manufacturing bleed-through on the interior covers. Light general wear overall on a solid, glossy comic that is hard to find.

AMAZING-MAN COMICS # 20 (1941 CENTAUR)

Condition: INCOMPLETE

Seller's Notes: A scarce Centaur Comics cover. Lew Glanzman action-packed scene.

This listing is for the front cover only. The cover has pieces out it. One edge section is in tatters plus there are a few long tears going into the artwork. While the cover is not brittle you still need to handle the edges with some care esp. the top left corner area.
