DIARY of HORROR # 1 (Avon, 1952) SOLD

Al Hollingsworth bondage and skull cover. A Golden-Age classic cover.

GRADE: VG-/VG with Supple White Interior pages

 

Seller's Notes: Glossy, very tight, solid and supple copy. Spine has some edge tears, BC has large grease pen markings on it along with a small brown stain on the top that penetrates to interior side of the BC. Light pencil writing on the FC. Name written on 1st interior page. The 1st 2 photos are scans, which makes the white look darker than it is in-hand. The bottom right corner tip is folder over. Of note: the manufacturing of this comic did not have the staples penetrating the BC.

 

This comic is 100% complete with no restoration.

I have always loved Hollingsworth. His work is very underrated, but his mixture of horror and good girl is right up there with Wood and Baker in my opinion. That Diary of Horror is the pinnacle of Hollingsworth.
