Modern Mini-Series Comics

Hey, everyone,

 

Last summer I received my MFA in fiction writing. I've been working on short stories and finishing my book, but I wanted to switch focus and possibly work on a mini comic series. I love reading comics and writing, so I wanted to dig in and get serious about combining the two. Marjorie Liu was on the guest faculty at the MFA program I attended, so it was pretty cool to meet her and get an inside look on her career in comics.

 

So all that to say this - what are some modern mini-series that are worth picking up? I want to read as many as I can to get a feel for the way stories are done, etc. Thanks for any recommendations!
